LIVE:
Jazz Out @ Hotel Vila Galé (Lapa) – Straight from Brasilia, Jazz Out Receives Vavá Afiouni on his ten-year anniversary tour.

So far he’s appeared on eleven albums, three of them solo, besides accompanying thirty other Brazilian and foreign artists. In addition to being a composer, Vavá is also a bass player who has played with a lot of recognized singers and instrumentalists, and travelling with his music to countries like Mali, Algeria, Australia, the United States, France, Spain, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

Prepare for a show with lots of poetry, interactivity, and spontaneity from all of the instrumentalists involved. Vavá Afiouni harmoniously blends genres like rock, mpb, reggae, funk, country and jazz to create a uniquely Brazilian and international sound.

The special guest is pianist Jonathan Ferr.

Vila Galé is a four-star international hotel, which has the charming piano bar in the espaço Vinicius de Moraes.

Jazz Out is an event that takes place every Thursday and proposes a new concept of experiencing and listening to music. A collaboration between musicians, producers, researchers and music enthusiasts in search of a night like no other.

Tickets are R$20 (cash only) and the event starts at 7PM.

PARTY:
La Fiesta! New Mariuzinn (Copacabana) – La Fiesta! is the party that is in love with Latin culture.

Several renowned DJs from the Latin scene will be behind the decks for the whole night in the newly renovated New Mariuzinn Copacabana.

With lots of Salsa, Reggaeton, Cumbia and Bachata your Wednesday nights will have a special Latin seasoning.

There will be special offers on Fernet Branca and Pisco Mistral and they will be broadcasting national and internationl football games.

Tonight the person in charge of the Latin rhythms is the famous DJ Cauê Campean, with the mission of getting everyone dancing, with house, hip-hop, brazilian funk and trap guaranteed until the sun rises.

Double measures all night long and free beer and caipirinhas from 10PM until midnight (for two hours!). Tickets are between R$40 – R$50 and the night starts at 10PM.

LIVE:
Samba do Tiago Testa @ Beco do Rato (Lapa) – An evening of samba with up and coming singer and percussionist Tiago Testa. This his first time performing at the famous den of samba known as Beco do Rato.

In a charming corner of Joaquim Silva, in Lapa, since 2005, Beco do Rato has established its reputation as a place of good music, culture, friendly people, personalities, cold beer and great tidbits. In charge of the bar is Márcio Pacheco, also responsible for the best samba roda (samba circle) in Rio, Samba Luzia.

Tickets are between R$10 and the evening begins at 8PM.

Blue Agave (Ipanema)
Blue Agave in Ipanema is a great place for Mexican food, strong drinks and watching the FIFA 2018 World Cup action. They have English-speaking staff and is a popular expat hangout in Ipanema. Be sure to check out Blue Agave in Copacabana also for a great night out.

Flashback (Ipanema)
Flashback is a high-end restaurant with plenty of classical music and photos decorating the walls. Tonight, between 7PM and 9PM the restaurant will serve a happy hour with two for one on caipivodkas and Stella Artois. The caipivodkas are made fresh with either lime, strawberry or passionfruit as well as additional herbs added in for a taste explosion.
