We have the top three picks for this Wednesday, and below there is a list of bars and lounges that are always a good option.

PARTY:
Karaokê Indie @ Casa da Matriz (Botafogo) – This is a party for all colors and all stripes. Wednesday, January 9th has a rainbow special of their indie karaoke summer season with lots of glitter, colorful balloons, and of course plenty of singing on their super stage and a party on the second dancefloor with DJs spinning the best pop, rock and Carioca funk.

The drink promotion for the night is two-for-one on caipirinha plus plenty of skittles distributed throughout the club.

Tickets are between R$10-R$30 and the night gets going at 10PM.

LIVE:
Jazz @ Bar do Nanam (Centro) – This is the second evening of jazz at Bar do Nanam of 2019. As always, they are continuing on with the tradition of live jazz every Wednesday at one of Rio’s liveliest nightspots.

The hosts for the night will be drummer Guga Pellicciotti and DJ Rodrigo Cavalcanti, who will be both playing music themselves and inviting various musicians and DJs to participate in a wonderfully diverse and vibrant evening of music, dance and fun.

This night should begin at around 8PM and entry is free. Bar do Nanam politely asks that revellers purchase their drinks from the bar and also contribute to the musicians’ hat when it is passed around from time to time.

Jazz – Beco das Artes – Centro

PARTY:
Latin Party @ Pub Kriok (Lapa) – The original party that brought reggaeton to Rio is always a sure bet to kick some energy and attitude into the midweek.

The night has an open bar of beer and caipirinha until midnight. What more could a party need? Two-for-one on caipirinha and catuaba until 1AM? How about some drinking games, random shots, and dance-offs? DJ Slim and DJ Muchacho Malo plus VJ Rafael C are going to be taking over two floors of Pub Kriok and pumping out some of the finest reggaeton, funk and pop all through the night.

On the first floor will be reggaeton, latin pop, world music, hiphop, pop and much more. On the second floor will be merengue, trance, salsa, funk and a whole lot more Miami-style rhythms. After midnight there is a two-for-one offer on caipirinha and catuaba. There will be great photographers capturing the magic, LED light shows, excellent air-conditioning over three floors. This is a night that will go on for a long time (eight years running so far).

The night starts at 11PM and is free until midnight if you put your name on the event wall, otherwise entry is R$20 all night.
