Saturday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – The Rio Music Conference is in full swing and tonight will present the one and only Fatboy Slim at the Marina da Gloria. Fatboy Slim is a globally recognized DJ with various productions, music videos and amazing live shows.

Not many DJs have the ability to crossover from underground to mainstream and back again the way that Norman Cook aka. Fatboy Slim does. His music is played around the world, simultaneously on commercial radio and by top club DJs. A career that has spanned 30 years, and that grew out of a love of sharing music, continues to evolve as Fatboy Slim headlines festivals around the world.

Carnaval Samba Parade – Access Groups at the Sambadromo (Lapa)
Composed of 19 of Rio’s biggest samba schools, the competition is fierce in this category, as the winner makes it to the Special Group parade of the following year. This is the best option for those who do not want to spend huge amounts of money, but are still interested in watching exceptional performances.

Rio Music Conference presents Fatboy Slim (Gloria)
The Rio Music Conference is off and running in its third year, this time bringing DJs from all over the globe to perform. Tonight its none other that Fatboy Slim playing his funky breaky style along Tom Staar, Rodrigo Ferrari and Paula Pedroza.

Blast (Buzios)

Bloco Dois Pra Lá Dois Pra Cá (Botafogo)
Dois Pra Lá Dois Pra Cá is one of the busiest blocos which begins in Botafogo and finishes in front of the Copacabana Palace hotel on the beachfront. Playing a rich mix of samba, this bloco is always a hit with residents and tourists alike, covering some good ground through the surrounding streets. The bloco starts on Rua Álvaro Ramos.
