Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – PillowTalk is in town on the final stop of their South American tour, already having played at D-Edge and Warung. The San Francisco based trio has been on top of the dance music scene with their unique sound on such top labels as Wolf + Lamb, Visionquest and Life & Death. Formed in 2001, Baião de Corda won from the start. Passionate about forró, Rodrigo Marchevsky, Andrew Aragon, Leo Di Mola and Dudu enchanted the audience with a new look at the old classics of Brazilian music.

Soja (Lapa)
Soja is a band that defines themselves as “a union of musicians brought together by a love of reggae, rock and hip hop.” Dubbed “road warriors”, they traveled with their unique sound to almost every city in North America, as well as many cities throughout Europe, South America, the Pacific Islands and the Caribbean.

PillowTalk (Copacabana)
PillowTalk is the trio from the Lower Haight District of San Francisco (CA), formed by Sammy D, Ryan Williams and Michael Tello. The trio compose dance rhythms fusing musical styles such as r & b, boogie, soul and disco and house. Their sound is pretty much dominating the underground scene, allowing them to tour all over the world. Having just returned from their European tour, the guys make their final South American tour stop here in Rio, having already played at Warung and D-Edge. They are joined by Triple Crown, which is comprised of locals Mary Zander, DJ Nepal and Jonas Rocha.

Brazilian Wax convida B.Negao (Copacabana)
The explosive mixture of hip-hop, jamaican Music, jazz, samba, soul, funk carioca, afrobeat and rock promoted by rapper BNegão, has caused quite an impact in Brazil and abroad, reaching a growing number of listeners. Tonight the man, the myth, the legend takes the stage at Fosfobox, accompanied by Brazilian Wax, Apavoramento SS and much more. This promises to be an epic night of funky beats.

The night will be a special show with opening Group Batuk d’Ghetto and presentation of Rio Samba ‘n’ Rock, a band that combines the swagger of samba with striking guitar chords.
