After Covid-19, Brazil’s energy crisis is concern for Rio’s industry – FIRJAN

The advance of vaccination against Covid-19 by age groups in Rio has raised hopes that the economic crisis triggered by the shutdown of activities may be nearing its end.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - A number of entrepreneurs linked to FIRJAN - the state of Rio de Janeiro federation of industries - fear that after the pandemic two new situations may hamper the progress of business: the energy crisis and the shortage of components.

With hydroelectric plants' water reservoirs at historically lows, there is growing concern about an energy crisis for next year.
