Argentina reopens border crossing with Brazil in Corrientes province
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – “The reopening of the Paso de los Libres – Uruguayana land crossing is authorized as of October 27, 2021, as an international safe corridor for entry into the Argentine Republic,” said administrative decision 1040.
The regulation recalls that entry of non-resident foreigners through international crossings, ports, airports and border posts is banned until October 31.

However, on October 19, Argentina lifted all restrictions on entry from abroad by air, 14 days after 50% of the population had been immunized against Covid-19. In addition, the government of Alberto Fernández has authorized the entry of foreigners from neighboring countries without isolation since October 1.
In recent days, the South American nation authorized the reopening of several border crossings in the provinces of Misiones (northeast), Córdoba (center), Tierra del Fuego (south) and Mendoza (midwest).
The government established a progressive increase in the quota of people that may enter through all border crossings until November 1, when all foreigners will be allowed to enter.
Since the beginning of the health emergency, the Executive authorized only once the entry of tourists, who had to come from neighboring countries. That period was extended from November 2, 2020 until March 29, and travelers could only enter by air or sea.
In Argentina, 25.6 million inhabitants were immunized with two doses while 33.3 million have been vaccinated with one, according to the latest Ministry of Health data. Yesterday, 1,415 infections and 15 deaths of people with Covid-19 were recorded. With a population of 45.7 million, over 5.2 million infections and 115,866 deaths related to Covid-19 have been reported since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
