Brazil airlines post drop in passenger demand in August – ANAC

The data were released on Monday , September 27, by the National Agency of Civil Aviation (ANAC). The agency has compared these indicators with the same period in 2019, given the extraordinary low turnover posted in 2020 due to the pandemic.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - In the month of August, the domestic market flew over 5.5 million passengers in terminals across Brazil, 30.2% less than in the pre-pandemic August of 2019. In the year-to-date, airlines have transported 35 million travelers.

Aircraft occupancy stood at 80.1%, down 2.9% compared to 2019. Domestic cargo transported in the month totaled 33,461 tons, down 11.3% compared to 2019.
