Brazil Has 428 Deaths in 24 Hours, Reaching 6,329; Over 90,000 Total Cases (May 1st)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The number of confirmed cases has risen to 91,589, according to a report published yesterday afternoon by the Ministry of Health. There was a seven percent increase in both cases and deaths. On Thursday, there were 85,380 cases and 5,901 deaths from the disease, a worldwide pandemic.

There were 6,209 new cases diagnosed overnight. According to the Ministry, at least 47,221 patients are being monitored, and 38,039 have already recovered (41.5 percent of those infected) - 1,642 deaths are still under investigation.
