Brazil’s Gol airline expands capacity purchase agreement with Voepass in Northeast

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Gol (GOLL4) on Friday, July 23, announced it has expanded and bolstered its Capacity Purchase Agreement with Voepass to resume routes and more flights in the state of Bahia as of this July.

“With an expected increase in demand for flights in the region for the second half of the year, Gol reinforces the importance of the Salvador hub and its connectivity pillar not only with the interior and coast of Bahia, but also with other Northeastern states and Brazil,” the airline said in a statement.

There are 7 routes in Salvador through the partnership with Voepass, 2 of which were recently implemented. Flights are operated by Voepass in the Bahian capital with 2 ATR aircraft with a 68-passenger capacity.

Gol has operated 78 daily flights at Salvador’s international airport in July, including flights operated by the partner company, which will remain at this level in August. The weekly number of seats offered on the 7 routes operated by the partner company amounts to 4,896 in July and 5,576 in August.

In total, the sum of seats offered by Gol and Voepass is 62,064 (July) and 53,720 (August), representing an increase in Gol’s offer of 9% and 12%, respectively.
