Paraguay Senate’s phone service restored after being cut off for 3-month delay of payment
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – “The selected number has been blocked by the company,” could be heard this morning when trying to call the Chamber of Senators, local media reported; However, shortly after the news spread, the issue was solved.
Copaco commercial manager Hernán Franco said that service was restored to the Senate during the morning after payment was made.

The upper house blamed the Ministry of Finance for failing to pay the service on time. Senate administrative director Rubén Vázquez explained that “the problem is that if the Treasury fails to transfer monthly to Copaco, it is an issue between one state entity and another.”
Vázquez assured the press that the institution had made all transfers on time and said it was strange that he had not received any notice or complaint from Copaco for lack of payment.
On the other hand, Senate administrator Nino Martínez confirmed the debt and assured that it has already been “settled.” As to why the bills were allegedly not paid for 3 months, Martínez requested that Copaco “clarify the debt.”
“The system automatically blocked the line’s service, as is the case with any customer with 3 overdue invoices. I understand the inconvenience was caused by an administrative delay in payment,” Franco said.
“There were 3 outstanding invoices and 2 of them were paid a few hours ago. They are now up to date. The third one will probably be paid by the end of the month,” Franco explained.
