RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – A joint action of the Military and Federal Police seized about 120 thousand tablets of ecstasy, which were being carried in a truck in Anápolis, in the state of Goiás. Two men were arrested.
The seizure occurred on the night of Friday (3rd) and, according to the Military Police, it is the largest ever carried out in relation to this type of drug in the state.
The vehicle was carrying a load of pineapples. The corporation believes that the intention was to disguise the transport of the drugs.
According to Lieutenant Vilmar Pinto Ribeiro, the drug came from Europe and would be distributed in Goiás. “The drug came from Holland and arrived in Brazil through Belém and was brought from there in this truck,” he said.
In addition to the drug, the police seized a .38 caliber revolver with scraped numbers and five rounds of ammunition.
