RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The Rio de Janeiro State Health Secretariat reported on Thursday, May 7th, that the state recorded 14,156 confirmed cases and 1,394 deaths from coronavirus (Covid-19).
The data show the highest number of daily deaths recorded since the outbreak of the pandemic: 189 in 24 hours. There were 1,205 deaths on Wednesday, May 6th.
There are currently 570 deaths under investigation and 161 have been discarded. To date, among confirmed cases, 8,300 patients have recovered from the disease.
