RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The Brazilian boxer Bia Ferreira defeated Russian Natalia Shadrina on Thursday, October 10th, and secured an unprecedented medal for Brazil, by qualifying for the semifinals of the World Boxing Championship, which takes place in the city of Ulan-Ude, Russia. Therefore she ensures herself at least a bronze medal.
The Brazilian's triumph was very difficult, so much so that the judges awarded her the victory with a 3-2 score.
Bia's semi-final will take place next Saturday, October 12th, and the opponent will be American Rashida Ellis.
