Brazil’s Alison Brendom Competing for World’s Best U-20 Athlete Award

The Brazilian runner was a finalist in the 400m hurdles in Doha.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Brazilian sprinter Alison Brendom, 19, known as Piu, is a finalist for the World's Best Under-20 Athlete. The announcement was made yesterday morning, November 5th, by the International Athletics Federation (IAAF).

Brendom is competing with four other athletes in the Male Rising Star Award category, one of the trophies of the Best of Athletics event in 2019. The award ceremony will be held on November 23rd in the Principality of Monaco.

The year 2019 was one with notable conquests for the athlete from São Joaquim da Barra.
