Women’s World Cup Football: Brazil’s Team Falls to France 2-1

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - France captain Amandine Henry scored in extra time as the hosts beat Brazil 2-1 at the Women's World Cup in Le Havre on Sunday night to send "Les Bleues" into the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Henry found the back of the net in the 107th minute of a tense game at the Stade Océane after Thaisa had canceled out Valérie Gauvin's second-half opener.

"Les Bleues" struggled to make their early domination count due to the lack of a killer instinct that prevented them from wrapping up victory . . .
