RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - A new tour agency, Chapada Brasil Tours, has launched offering trips to the chapadas of Brazil. A "chapada" technically translates to a plateau found in the Brazilian highlands, but the word chapadas is usually used to describe mountainous ranges.
The agency was recently opened by Fabio Mendonça, a Carioca with strong English-language skills whose experience in tourism comes from working in hotels and hostels in the city of Rio de Janeiro, as well as a driver for private tours.
