Ecuador’s Quito promotes itself as romantic destination with new website
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Under the slogan “Quito Romance, to fall in love even more,” the website projects the Ecuadorian capital as an ideal destination for a marriage proposal, wedding celebration, honeymoon or to relive moments on a wedding anniversary.
“Quito offers spectacular settings for these dreams to come true. We offer an infinite variety of locations, very close to the clouds, with a historic center of inexhaustible cultural heritage, full of life, romance, nature, in an area with all services available,” it states.

This initiative appeals to all positive energies of the Middle of the World, as the city is located directly on the equator, to attract couples who want to start a new life there.
WEDDINGS FOR ALL TASTES
The Ecuadorian capital is presented as an alternative for lovers of all faiths, as Quito has been declared a place of interreligious coexistence since 2019 by the city’s main denominations.
“Therefore, it is the perfect destination providing a space for various religious and spiritual practices so as to consolidate a secular or sacred union aimed at finding a sense of connection with their worlds of interaction with beings, spirits and gods that shape their ideologies,” the website notes.
It is also appealing to more traditional couples in a city where churches abound, some as imposing as the Cathedral of Quito or the Cathedral of the Society of Jesus, in the heart of the colonial historic quarter.
And even under an ancestral ceremony with “a ritual and spiritual celebration that comes from pre-Hispanic Andean traditions, where the elements of nature -water, wind, sun and earth- are fundamental pillars to symbolize the solemnity of a couple’s union.”
These weddings take place in sacred places and on special dates: full moon, solstice and equinox, to enhance the cosmic part that strengthens the ceremony’s spirituality, considering the four cardinal directions.
A TYPE OF DESTINATION IN GROWING DEMAND
The official launching of Quito as a romantic destination occurred last November as a proposal to reactivate tourism by articulating the entire value chain around weddings, honeymoons or even anniversaries.
Located at an altitude of 2,800 meters above sea level, with an ancient city center declared a World Heritage Site, and surrounded by rural Andean landscapes, the Ecuadorian capital seeks to join other international destinations in this category with this strategy.
The project includes a guide to services and accommodation, restaurants and special routes, and involves related sectors such as jewelers, florists, decorators and even tailors.
Quito aims to attract any type of celebration related to love and family, from proposals to weddings, honeymoons, renewal of vows, bachelor/bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinners, babymoons, familymoons and wedding brunches.
