RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Five adults and two children – six from the same family – died in an accident in the rural area of Pindamonhangaba (SP).
According to the State Police, the victims’ vehicle fell into a ditch on Sunday, October 6th, and they were only found on Monday morning, October 7th.
The victims had gone for a ride in Ribeirão Grande at 9 AM on Sunday and did not return. Friends and relatives shared photos of the victims on social media reporting their disappearance.
The victims’ car, a white Gol, was found around 5 AM on Monday by a relative who was searching the region. According to the State Police, the car rolled over and fell into a ditch on the banks of the Sapucaia Road.
The vehicle was found submerged in the area.
Teams of the Fire Department and the PM retrieved the bodies early in the morning. The operation to remove the victims and the vehicle took approximately two hours.
In the car were two couples – one with their granddaughter and the other with their daughter – and a neighbor of the family.
The victims’ bodies were taken to the Legal Medical Institute of Pindamonhangaba.
