Avenida Paulista Pedestrian Street Signals Display Same Sex Couples Pictograms

SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL – The pedestrian traffic lights on Avenida Paulista earned stylized signage in honor of the 23rd LGBT Pride Parade of São Paulo happening this Sunday, 23rd.

Browse the directory →The traffic signals display figures representing same-sex couples embracing or holding hands, in place of the symbol of a pedestrian walking (green light) or stationary (red light).
The initiative is run by the São Paulo City Hall and the Department of Mobility and Transportation, through the Traffic Engineering Company (CET), which is in charge of producing and installing the pictograms.
The six intersections where it will be possible to find the stylized signals are:
- Avenida Paulista with Rua Augusta
- Avenida Paulista with Alameda Joaquim Eugênio de Lima
- Avenida Paulista with Rua Peixoto Gomide
- Avenida Paulista with Avenida Brigadeiro Luís Antônio
- Avenida Paulista with Alameda Campinas
- Avenida Paulista with Rua Pamplona
