Immersive Exhibition on Van Gogh Runs Until September 15th in São Paulo

SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL – Shopping Pátio Higienópolis in São Paulo presents Landscapes by Van Gogh, an immersive exhibition in the universe of the work and life of the Dutch painter.

Inspired by the landscapes portrayed on Vincent van Gogh’s most famous canvases, giant scenarios which visitors may enter and walk through are the highlight of the exhibition Paisagens de Van Gogh (“Van Gogh’s Landscapes”), open to the public until next September 15th in São Paulo’s capital.

In each of the settings, visitors are carried to the artist’s universe by means of color, scent and sound, with projections and audio of excerpts from his personal letters, read by a storyteller.

In total, the immersive exhibition covers 250 m² of the central court of the Pátio Higienópolis Shopping Center, in the center-west zone of São Paulo.

“His works with starry skies, fields of sunflowers and plantations that seem to sway in the wind, with bold colors and traces ahead of their time, have inspired us to define this exhibition’s visual concept”, explains creator and curator Karina Israel.

The tours take in the scenery: Wheatfield with Crows, inspired by the canvas of the same name; Iris Flower Labyrinth (with reference to the canvas Irises); Almond Tree Square (Almond Blossoms); Moon Bath (Starry Night Over the Rhône); and Starry Night Symphony (The Starry Night).

Visitors may also enjoy the scenery of the Painted Photo, in which they take a photo, with a filter that refers to a portrait created by Van Gogh; and the Mirror Forest, with scenography that resembles the woods painted by the artist.

The exhibition is open from Monday to Saturday, from 1 PM to 9 PM. Sundays and holidays, from 2 PM to 8 PM.
