Skateboarding for all: 4 free skateboarding places in the city of São Paulo

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Kelvin Hoefler and Rayssa Leal both made history in skateboarding at the Tokyo Olympics, by winning silver medals for Brazil. Although it is a sport that can be practiced on the street, structures are also necessary for maneuvers.

VANS SKATE PARK SÃO PAULO

Vans has the only public skate park in Brazil, the “Vans Skate Park São Paulo”. With an area of 830 square meters, the track is located in Cândido Portinari Park, near Parque Villa-Lobos. Built through a partnership between the state government and the brand in 2018, the venue had already hosted the World Park Finals in 2019.

CITY PARK CHÁCARA DO JOCKEY

With over 1,400 square meters, Chácara do Jockey Park is the largest skate park in the city and the third-largest in the country. The space, opened in 2016, considers skateboarding and the practice of other sports such as BMX and rollerblading. The construction of the space was carried out in collaboration with the Paulista Skateboarding Federation, creating a space for national and international competitions.

CHUVISCO PARK

Next to Congonhas Airport, the skate park was inaugurated two years ago with the signature of the world skate champion Murilo Peres. In addition to the 2,000 square meters of area and 29 obstacles for the practice of street and park modalities, the place also has a bike path, multi-sports courts, and gymnastic equipment.

MOOCA SKATE PARK

With the advice of professional skateboarders Mailton dos Santos and Rony Gomes, the São Paulo City Hall inaugurated the skate park in the east zone of São Paulo amid the trees of the old club on the site. With lots of greenery, the skate park has plenty of shade on the tracks.
