Video Shows São Paulo State Police Officer Dumping Body in Ditch

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Following a clash in the community of Dique de Caixeta, in São Vicente, on the São Paulo coast, a state police officer dumped the body of a 16-year-old in a ditch. A video that is circulating on social media shows the moment of the action.

Four boys died in the operation and one was wounded. According to one of the local residents, three of the dead were teenagers. The Inspector General’s Office of the São Paulo State Police is investigating the case.

In the video, four police officers approach the stream. At the end of the 38-second recording, one of them dumps what appears to be a body into the water.

Residents of the region deplore what happened in the community and call for peace. In an interview with G1 news site, one resident, who wished to remain anonymous, reported that the operation was “out of control”. “They came to kill. So much so that they all surrendered, with their hands over their heads, but they were still shot. There was no gun, you can ask any resident here,” he said.

Another resident detailed the moment of the State Police’s arrival. “They dumped him in the ditch so that he would bleed out from the bullet wound and have no chance of surviving. The police came in with backpacks and the weapons were inside, to incriminate those who were killed. It was slaughter, in fact”.
