São Paulo State Records Over 8,500 Covid-19 Deaths (June 4th)

SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL – The state of São Paulo reached 8,561 deaths by Covid-19 on Thursday, June 4th, an increase of 3.4 percent over the previous day, when it totaled 8,276. In the period, there were 285 new deaths.

There were 129,000 infections recorded, 4.4 percent more than on Wednesday, June 3rd, when 123,483 were confirmed.

ICU bed occupancy rates remain high, but stable, standing at 71.4 percent in the state and 82.4 percent in Greater São Paulo.

By Thursday, 7,670 patients with confirmed or suspected infection had been hospitalized in wards and 4,799 in ICUs. Among patients assisted in the state health network, 23,664 have been discharged.
