São Paulo’s retail sector up 7.5% in first half of July

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Retail sales grew 7.5% in the city of São Paulo in the first half of July compared to the same period in June, according to preliminary data from the São Paulo Commercial Association (ACSP).

June posted a 5.8% increase over the first 15 days of May.

There is still much to recover, as the sales indicator for the first half of July is still 38.2% below that recorded in the same period in 2019, a pre-pandemic year.
