Six People Shot in Fight Between Street Vendors in São Paulo

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – According to the State Police (PM), a man fired several rounds at the scene. The victims’ condition has not been disclosed.

The case occurred at 10:10 AM and the victims were five women and one man. According to preliminary information from the PM, the victims were shot in their arms and legs. One woman had been shot in the back. The square is cordoned off.

According to the PM, the victims tried to escape by running to a Sesc unit in the area.

The wounded were rushed to the Santa Casa de Misericórdia de São Paulo and to a hospital in Vergueiro.

A helicopter from the police searched the area to find the suspect, said to be a large, bald man, wearing a gold chain and with a tattoo on his arm. The case was reported in the 1st Police Precinct (Liberdade).
