Mexican OXXO chain opens five convenience stores in city of São Paulo

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Raízen, the energy giant, now also has convenience stores in the country's largest city to compete with those of major retailers like Pão Minuto, Carrefour Express, Hirota, or other express markets.

The company entered into a joint venture with Mexico's FEMSA Comercio and created Grupo Nós to explore Selecta convenience stores located in gas stations, but also the proximity market with OXXO. The first stores in Brazil were opened in the city of Campinas to test the Brazilian market.
