Use of electric bikes in Rio de Janeiro increases by 33% between January and June

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The electric bikes available at the orange stations have risen in favor among Cariocas, even if the rides are slightly more expensive. A study prepared by Tembici in collaboration with Labmob/UFRJ, Aliança Bike, and Agência Giz shows that the number of trips made on e-bikes increased by 33% between January and June this year.

In the second quarter of this year alone, the total number of users of "electric scooters" of the app Bike Rio increased by 26%.
